Privacy Policy

Eel Share helps users find and coordinate shared electric-vehicle charging spots. This policy explains what information the service processes and why.

Information we process

We process account information such as your name, email address, authentication-provider identifier, and profile photo. If you add a vehicle, we process its brand, model, color, plate number, optional charging power, and optional photo.

We process station memberships, favorites, access requests, availability-alert requests, and charging-session history so the service can provide its core features. If you allow location access, your device location is sent to the service to order nearby stations and improve place-search relevance.

We process device notification tokens to deliver notifications you request. Administrators may provide email addresses when inviting people to a station.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, provide station search and availability, coordinate charging sessions, manage private-station access, deliver requested notifications and emails, provide support, prevent abuse, and maintain service security.

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-company tracking.

Service providers

The service relies on providers including Google and Apple for authentication, Google for place search, Firebase for push notifications, MongoDB Atlas for database hosting, Cloudflare R2 for image storage, Render for application hosting, and Resend for transactional email. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and activity data while your account is active and as needed to operate and protect the service. You can delete your account from the Profile screen. Account deletion removes your account and associated personal data, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

Your choices

You can deny location, photo-library, or notification permissions in device settings. Some related features will then be unavailable or less relevant. You can remove uploaded photos and edit vehicle or profile information in the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information.

Children

Eel Share is intended for drivers and charging-station operators and is not directed to children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The latest version and its effective date will be posted on this page.
